How Long Does it Take to Reach Disneyland Paris from Paris?

Traveling from Paris to Disneyland Paris varies in duration depending on your mode of transportation and starting point within the city. 

From the heart of Paris, the journey to Disneyland can take approximately 45 minutes by RER train, making it a swift and convenient option for many visitors. 

For those preferring to take the Disney shuttle bus, the trip extends to about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Driving offers a slightly faster alternative, typically around 40 minutes.

Driving and taking a shuttle is also subject to the day’s traffic conditions – a crucial factor to consider, particularly during weekday rush hours (weekdays between 7.30 am and 9 am and 5 pm to 6 pm). 

If you travel from the Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports, a shuttle bus ride to Disneyland Paris lasts about an hour.

Meanwhile, the express train service from Charles de Gaulle can whisk you to the excitement of Disneyland in just 15 minutes, offering a quick transition from air to adventure.

How to Reach Disneyland Paris by RER

For those traveling from Paris, the Parks are only a 35-minute journey away on the RER A regional train. 

The Paris metro and train system allows locals and visitors to access different destinations conveniently via public transportation. 

The RER train lines connect Paris to outer-lying areas, while the metro lines run within the city center.

To get to Disneyland Paris, take the RER A red line heading east towards Marne-la-Vallee–Chessy. 

This line is sometimes marked with Mickey Mouse icons indicating the route to Disneyland. 

Make sure to board a train marked for Marne-la-Vallee as your final stop as the RER line A divides into two in between. 

At stations, check the signs on platforms that state upcoming train destinations and the trains’ displays showing the terminus station.

The metro uses automated ticket gates, so valid tickets are required to enter and exit. 

Tickets must also be scanned when departing the Disneyland RER station, so hold onto your ticket. 

Once you exit, the Disneyland station provides direct access to the park entrance gates, making train travel efficient for reaching the resort.

However, this can only be purchased when buying park tickets – it is not sold as a separate service.

So, if you already have park tickets or do not plan to visit the parks, the shuttle bus is not a viable option. 

For these cases, take the RER train line instead for cheap and direct transport to the Disneyland Paris resort area. 

The RER provides the most economical means of transit without buying park tickets you may not use.

The Disneyland Paris Express departs from 4 practical places within the city: 

• 8.15 a.m. @ Gare du Nord
• 8.30 a.m. @ Eiffel Tower District 
• 8.35 a.m. @ Opéra Garnier 
• 8.55 a.m. @ Châtelet 

Tickets for the Disneyland Paris Express can also be bought at the reception desks of selected Paris hotels.

Make sure to reach the meeting point 15 minutes before the scheduled time of the shuttle.

You will arrive at Disneyland Paris at around 9.45 a.m. This may change subject to traffic conditions.

Depending on park closing times, the shuttle will depart from the park at 8 pm or 9 pm.

How to reach Disneyland Paris by Car

The drive from Paris to Disneyland is about 40 minutes, covering 34 miles on the A4 highway. 

The motorway to Disneyland Paris from central Paris and Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports is free.

Road signs guide the way, and it’s only 2 minutes off the highway to Disneyland.

Otherwise, you can simply input the park’s address you wish to visit in a GPS service and you are good to go.

While Disneyland Paris has ample parking, driving in Paris can be frustrating due to narrow streets, prolific roundabouts, and aggressive local drivers. 

Renting a car makes sense if visiting other parts of France beyond Paris that offer beautiful driving routes and remote areas. 

However, public transportation is likely the better option for a day trip solely to Disneyland.

If renting a car, French law mandates several items be present: an emergency stop sign, a high-visibility safety vest for each passenger, and a single-use breathalyzer. 

Rental agencies should supply those, but check to ensure they are provided.

 Driving a personal car requires packing those items yourself.

All cars in Paris must also display a clean air sticker denoting emissions levels. 

Rentals will have them, but personal cars need one obtained prior to arrival.

Children under ten cannot ride in the front seat. Hands-free or Bluetooth devices cannot be used while driving. 

Speed camera detectors and satnavs with speed trap functionality are prohibited.

Disneyland Paris provides the Magical Shuttle service that will take you from the airport to the park in 45.

This provides connections between Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles De Gaulle airports and the Disney Parks and other Hotels located close to Disneyland Paris.

You can use the Magical Shuttle on both your arrival and departure days.

The shuttle stops at Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy bus station, a short walk from the parks. The Disney Express desk is a 2-minute walk away.

Parking at Disneyland Paris

By presenting the check-in card, Guests staying in Disney Hotels or Les Villages Nature Paris can take advantage of free parking at their hotel and in the Disney Parks.

Two paid car parks are available for those not staying in a Disney Hotel. 

Mickey & Friends Parking Lot: This is the primary parking lot near the park entrances.
